Two brothers, one workshop in Barcelona, and components named after the stars of their own constellation.

Gemini is Roland and Jose Baides. Two brothers, both from deep inside the industry — Jose an expert in carbon and composite manufacturing, Roland an engineer who had spent years designing motorcycles, bikes and components. They had built some of the most extraordinary bikes on the market for other people. Then they decided to build components for themselves, without restrictions, and named the company after the twins.

The products carry the name through. Pollux and Kästor — the two brightest stars in Gemini, and a reasonably direct statement about two brothers. Pröpus, Älzir. The naming is not decoration; it is the whole idea of the company written into the catalogue.

How they are made
Everything is handmade in the workshop at Cabrera de Mar, just up the coast from Barcelona. That is a deliberate constraint rather than a romantic one — making it themselves is how they control every material that goes into it.

The carbon is Mitsubishi MR70, an intermediate modulus fibre. The layup is a sandwich: twill on the inner and outer surfaces to resist delamination from impact, with a unidirectional core doing the structural work. Gemini developed a dedicated bladder for every single handlebar size, so the fibre lays into the exact shape of that bar rather than being forced into an approximation of it — which is what prevents the wrinkles and resin pools that quietly weaken a bar.

Every handlebar is then tested with low-frequency waves to find irregularities inside the laminate that no visual inspection would catch. What passes is finished with a high-resistance ceramic lacquer for UV protection.

The Älzir road handlebar is a single piece of unibody carbon from 220g, in internal and external cable routing versions for 1-1/8" and 1-1/4" steerers, with multiple width and stem combinations and 3D-printed end caps. The Pröpus is the ultralight integrated MTB bar. Pollux was the first fully integrated downhill handlebar anyone made.

Why the house carries them
Because there are perhaps a dozen people in the world who can make a monocoque handlebar this well, and two of them are brothers who answer their own emails.

Gemini builds in batches, by hand, to order. Anything not in stock enters the production queue and is made, then shipped. That is slower than buying from a warehouse and it is precisely why the parts are what they are. The company also does not permit public discounting of its products anywhere, by anyone — a component worth its price in March is worth it in November, and we think that is correct.
