Most triathlon shoes are road shoes with a bigger opening. The Chronos is not: it is built from Cádomotus's skating heritage, where sole stiffness and low stack height were never optional. Three millimetres closer to the pedal changes the ankle mechanics of every stroke — over 180 kilometres, that is the difference you feel at the start of the marathon rather than the end of it.
